Juan Esteban Orduz, CEO of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) in the U.S will discuss 100% Colombian Coffee, its meaning, its history and the coffee market, among other topics. 
Students will have the opportunity to learn about a 90 years old public/private partnership between the Colombian government and the FNC as well as lear how to market a commodity product and differentiate it on a worldwide level.

About the speaker.

Juan Esteban Orduz serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Colombian Coffee Growers Federation in the U.S. Mr. Orduz has an extensive experience with sustainable mining issues and corporate reorganizations. He served as the Legal Vice-President of Cemex Group in Colombia since 1997. Subsequently, during President Andres Pastrana's administration, Mr. Orduz was Minister Plenipotentiary/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Colombian Embassy in Washington D.C.. There he was instrumental in the creation, financing and implementation of Plan Colombia, an ambitious cooperation program between Colombia and the United States providing millions of dollars in investment for many of the most relevant social programs in Colombia, as well as the fight against illegal drug cultivation. Mr. Orduz has been a Co-Chairman of the Board of Eco Oro Minerals Corp since September 16, 2011 and its Director since April 14, 2011. He also serves as the Lead Director of Eco Oro Minerals Corp. Mr. Orduz served as a Director of National Coffee Association of USA Inc. He served in several corporate boards or represented companies such as Cementos Diamante S.A. and Cementos Samper S.A. He founded and was Chairman of the American Friends of Fundacion Cardio-Infantil. He served on the board of several associations such as the Coffee Quality Institute in the United States and charitable organizations. Mr. Orduz is a strong and consistent Advocate of community and social, economic and environmental sustainability issues. He is a Fellow of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University.
