We are a vibrant organization of NYU Stern MBA students dedicated to using the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. The SEA is a local chapter of Net Impact and one of the largest and most active student clubs at Stern. Our mission is to propel the next generation of socially responsible business leaders through education, inspiration and conversation.

Lauren ClarkCo-President

Focus: Finance, Impact Investing

Internship: Over the summer, Lauren interned at the Royal Bank of Canada in their Global Investment Banking division covering the Communications, Media and Entertainment industries.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Lauren worked for six years in global microfinance. She worked and consulted directly for microfinance banks in Haiti, Francophone Africa and India through a variety of firms including FINCA International, MicroVest Capital Management, Intellectual Capital Advisory and the Global Impact Investing Network (the GIIN).

Allison HollowellCo-President

Focus: Social Innovation & Impact, Entrepreneurship

Internship: Over the summer, Allie was a Social Impact Internship Fund recipient, working with the social enterprise beverage company, Runa. Allie developed a strategic marketing plan and budget for the Brooklyn-based start-up that sources sustainably from indigenous farmers in the Amazon.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Allie was Marketing Manager for a Swiss watch brand, Roger Dubuis, where she handled all marketing activities including advertising, PR and event planning. Allie volunteers with Bpeace, a non-profit organization committed to fostering peace through job creation in regions affected by conflict.

Kate Crisalli, VP of External Affairs

Focus: Social Innovation & Impact

Internship: This summer, Kate served as a consultant for the National Park Service in Gunnison, Colorado.

Experience: Kate is a dual degree candidate, working towards an MBA from NYU Stern and and an MPA from NYU Wagner.  Prior to NYU, she worked as a senior associate at Thurlow/Associates, a Los Angeles consulting firm specializing in strategic fund development and constituent relations for nonprofit organizations.  Her work centered around development for community health clinics, as well as for organizations dedicated to youth services and the arts.

Zoe Fuller-Young, VP of Careers

Focus: Strategy, Social Impact & Innovation

Internship: This summer, Zoe worked at the nonprofit B Lab analyzing impact measurement for sustainable businesses and conducting business development for the GIIRS impact investing platform.

Experience: Zoe worked as a Fellow at Women's Campaign International, an NGO that supported women running for public office in developing countries. She then spent three years as an Analyst with CFAR Management Consulting where she consulted on strategy and change management for large foundations, hospitals, and universities.

Education: BA in Political Science, Bryn Mawr College
Jessica Lee, VP of Careers

Focus: Social Innovation & Impact, Finance

Internship: Jessica spent the summer working at B Lab measuring social and environmental impact of businesses as well as analyzing trends in impact investing. 

Experience: Prior to joining NYU's dual MBA/MPA program, Jessica worked at the NYC Department of Small Business Services as a Senior Manager overseeing programs to help entrepreneurs start, operate, and grow small businesses in New York City. She has a background in public policy and nonprofit management.

Cecilia Seiden, VP of Admissions

Focus: Strategy, Management, and Social Innovation & Impact

Internship: This summer, Cecilia worked as a Summer Associate at Bain & Company

Experience: Prior to Stern, Cecilia worked for Compass Lexecon as a Senior Analyst in economic consulting, focusing on financial litigation including securities fraud and market manipulation cases. Before Compass Lexecon, she worked in the Alternative Investments division at Credit Suisse, managing client relationships in the implementation of equity options strategies. In addition to her role in SEA, Cecilia is a Forté Foundation Fellow, VP of Corporate Relations for Stern's Strategy and Operations Club (SOC) and active in the ACCIÓN USA Microfinance Council.

Education: BS in Economics, University of Pennsylvania
Lindsay Seeger, VP of Langone Students

Focus: Marketing, Finance

Experience: Five years of non-profit development and marketing experience at NYU and the Museum of America Finance in New York City. Participated in Stern Consulting Corps with partner organization Accion, and will be participating in the International Social Impact Stratagies class in January 2014 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

Education: BA in Art History, Gettysburg College

Jeff Grubbs, VP of Langone Students

Focus: Social Impact & Innovation, Finance

Experience: Jeff is a marketing and product development associate at Neuberger Berman, where he is responsible for marketing the firm’s fixed income products, primarily to institutional investors. Prior to rejoining Neuberger Berman in 2013, Jeff was an institutional sales associate for a boutique asset management firm that specialized in international equities as well as various fixed income strategies. In 2012, he partnered with the Make it Right Foundation on SEA’s NOLA Trek.

Reva Gaur, VP of Marketing

Focus: Social Impact & Innovation, Digital Marketing, Strategy

Internship: This summer, Reva was a digital strategy intern at American Express in the company's small business division, working on OPEN Forum, a digital platform for entrepreneurs to connect & share advice.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Reva was the Director of Communications & Social Media at he Educational Alliance, a community-based nonprofit on the Lower East Side of NYC. In this role, she managed digital marketing and public relations efforts to raise awareness of the organization's diverse programs in education and social services. Previously, she worked in marketing and publicity for the film industry and an alternative rock radio station.

Education: BA in Sociology, Brown University

Elizabeth Ginsburg, VP of Events and Speaker Series

Focus: Social Innovation and Impact, Finance

Internship: This summer, Elizabeth worked with the Corporate Sustainability unit at Citigroup, working with the Environmental and Social Risk Management team to assess the risk faced by Citi's energy clients due to water scarcity associated with hydraulic fracturing.

Experience: After college, Elizabeth worked on a farm in Siena, Italy for three months before moving to Boston where she was Associate Director of the Sustainable Endowments Institute, researching and consulting on college sustainability and endowment management practices. Following SEI, Elizabeth managed farmers' markets in the Boston area and worked as a social media consultant.

Education: BA in Environmental Studies and Economics, Brandeis University

Cassidy Morris, VP of Treks

Focus: Social Impact & Innovation, Finance

Internship: Cassidy was an internal consultant for the National Parks Service through the Business Plan Initiative, a program geared towards MBAs, MPPs, MPAs, and other graduate students.  She spent the summer living and working at Pinnacles National Park, creating a three to five year business plan for the park's management team in order to identify more efficient means of operating while continuing to uphold the parks' mission.

Experience: Before Stern, Cassidy worked at the boutique tour operator Academic Arrangements Abroad, based in New York City.  As a Director in Sales & Marketing in her last two years, Cassidy focused on expanding the firm's client portfolio, applying new marketing techniques to diversify the firm's audience, and strategically plan future trips.  

Education: BA in Latin & Greek Studies, Tufts University

Barrie Charney Golden, VP of TSDL

Focus: Strategy, Finance

Internship: Barrie was a Summer Associate at Pearson Education in Business Development & Innovation.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Barrie worked at EcoLogic Development Fund, a nonprofit cultivating sustainable development in Central America. She also worked for Maxima Microfinance in Cambodia, where she brokered partnerships with nonprofits and developed an incentive program for the firm's credit officers. Barrie is currently pursuing an MBA at Stern in conjunction with a Master of Public Administration at the NYU Wagner School of Public Service.

Sherri Lane, VP of Academics

Focus: Strategy, Social Innovation & Impact

Internship: This summer, Sherri interned at Deloitte Consulting in their Strategy & Operations practice.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Sherri was a Senior Loan Consultant for Acción, the largest domestic microfinance network in the US. In this role she generated and managed a microloan portfolio, provided credit and financial advice to local small business owners, and oversaw the front end of the loan operations process. She was also on the board of Amigos de las Américas Boston Chapter which sends high school students to Latin America for summer projects focusing on youth leadership development, community service, and multicultural exchange.

Education: BA in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish, Gordon College

Larry Arbuthnott, VP of Symposium

Focus: Finance, Global Business (MBA), International Finance and Development (MPA)

Internship: This summer, Larry worked as a Summer Analyst with the International Lending Team of the Calvert Foundation, a $200 million impact-investing fund. Over the course of the internship, he helped bring several deals to the Foundation's Investment Committee and worked with the Underwriting Team to update and revise its financial spreading models for community development financial institutions.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Larry worked in the Paris office of White & Case LLP, supporting the lawyers in its International Arbitration practice on a wide range of investment disputes. He then moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti to join Fonkoze - the country's largest microfinance institution - where he worked to develop a new business model for one of its loan programs and helped devise a disaster risk reduction strategy for microinsurance clients. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Stern in conjunction with a Master of Public Administration at the NYU Wagner School of Public Service.

Karen Wong, VP of Symposium

Focus: Strategy, Economics, Social Innovation & Impact

Internship: In the summer of 2013, Karen was a global strategy M&A intern at Accenture.

Experience: Prior to Stern, Karen was the Manager of Special Projects working as a change management agent at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC.) UDC is DC's public university that was on a large reform effort to turn around the University and launch DC's first community college. Prior to her time at UDC, Karen was an analyst at Mercer Consulting.

Dan Yelin, VP of Stern Campus Greening Initiative

Focus: Marketing, Finance

Experience: Prior to Stern, Dan worked for three years for the Advanced Biofuels Association in Washington, DC. In this role, he advocated for policies to promote the growth and commercialization of the domestic advanced biofuels industry. He also worked in the clean energy government relations practice of Holland & Knight LLP, where he focused on clean energy, trade, water quality, and other related issue areas.

Mariel Alvarez Delgado, VP of Marketing 

Focus: Marketing, Social Impact & Innovation

Experience: Prior to Stern, she worked in the beauty industry at L’Oreal and in the healthcare industry at Johnson & Johnson in the US and Puerto Rico. During her professional experience, she held various roles of increasing responsibility in manufacturing and supply chain management. Mariel Alvarez is currently pursuing an MBA/MPA dual-degree at NYU Stern and NYU Wagner.  

Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Syracuse University
Anjali Malipatil, VP of Marketing

Focus: Marketing, Management, Social Impact & Innovation

Experience: Prior to Stern, Anjali was the Director of Individual Giving for Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), an education nonprofit based in New York City. In this role, she managed individual giving fundraising strategy and operations. Before this role, Anjali worked in development at Teach For America - New York. Anjali began her career as a Teach For America corps member in New York City, where she taught middle schools science.

  Cyrus Kharas, VP of Careers

Focus: Finance and International Business

Experience: Before Stern, Cyrus was an Asset Management Analyst at the Calvert Social Investment Foundation focusing on providing impact investment services to Calvert's institutional clients. Specifically, Cyrus participated in risk and credit management, client reporting, and investment committee presentations. Before Calvert, Cyrus worked at the Treasury Department in the office of international affairs. He worked primarily on the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program which channels public sector capital to third world countries facing food insecurity. His most notable project at Treasury was to co-author Secretary Geithner's defense of the recapitalization of the multilateral development banks in March 2011.

Beth Higgins, VP of External Affairs

Focus: Marketing, Social Enterprise

Experience: Prior to Stern, Beth spent four years as a Sales Representative and Advertising Production & Marketing Manager for OPERA NEWS Magazine, where she worked with opera companies and educational institutions of all sizes to reach new audiences and promote the arts. Previously, she helped coordinate professional programs for the Duke community as the Duke Alumni Association's first Networking Coordinator, and was an intern in the Editorial department at OPERA NEWS Magazine.

Sarah Janowsky, VP of Think Social Drink Local

Focus: Social Impact, Health

Experience: Sarah is a first year in the dual MBA/MPA program. Previously Sarah worked as a political consultant for Benenson Strategy Group. Sarah’s independent research includes a project examining the feasibility of large scale Community Supported Agriculture in Kampala, Uganda, as well as an in-depth analysis of the correlation between economic liberalization and increasing obesity rates in Havana, Cuba. 

Education: BA in Political Economy and Global Health from Sarah Lawrence College 
Luke Douglas, VP of Academics

Focus: Strategy, Finance, Social Innovation & Impact

Experience: Before Stern, Luke worked in impact investing as a Program Related Investment Analyst at Trinity Wall Street in New York and as a Research Analyst at Impact Investment Shujog in Singapore. His work has focused on PRI portfolio construction, internal impact capture, social enterprise market research, and field-based impact assessment. Prior to this, Luke was a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Stern in conjunction with a Master of Public Administration at the NYU Wagner School of Public Service.  

Education: BA in International Politics and Economics, Middlebury College
