About Us

The Stern Investment Management and Research club (SIMR) is a committed group of more than 400 NYU Stern MBA students actively engaged in the professional and academic investment management community. Members are pursuing careers in:

  • Buy-side Research (Mutual Funds, Hedge Funds, Distressed Investing)
  • Sell-side Research (Investment Banks)
  • Private Wealth Management
  • Sales and Trading
  • Other investment management functions (e.g. Operations)

Today, NYU Stern continues to be a premier source of future talent.  SIMR boasts a strong bench of members with investment professional experience and professional credentials including CFAs and CPAs. This past year, our members put in strong performances at Cornell, UNC, Darden and Michigan stock pitch competitions. Furthermore, many of our members sit on the Michael Price Student Investment Fund, actively managing a multimillion dollar endowment fund.  Along with Stern’s world-class faculty and strong curriculum, SIMR plays an integral role in developing Stern’s investment professionals.

The club empowers its members through practical workshops, competitions, recruiting events and interactive seminars.
