There is art all around us, even if we never step foot inside a gallery or museum. Join ACC for a walking tour through the East Village and Lower East Side. RJ Rushmore (MBA2) will highlight some of the area's historic street art, graffiti, and public art. We'll visit work by artists like Shepard Fairey, hear the backstories behind iconic local murals, and gain tools for spotting and understanding public art in any neighborhood.

Stops will include (but are definitely not limited to):
- Basquiat's home and studio
- The ever-changing mural at Bowery and Houston
- A mural by Tristan Eaton, which is very selfie-friendly
- Murals by Sheryo and Yok, Conor Harrington, Shepard Fairey, and more!
- Probably a few Space Invaders
- Countless assorted pieces of small street art and graffiti that we can't predict because this is months away and the streets will change.

More about RJ:
RJ has written about street art for more than a decade, co-founded two public art projects in New York City, and worked at public art programs including Creative Time and Mural Arts Philadelphia. Through that work, he has produced public projects with artists like Shepard Fairey, Tristan Eaton, Christine Sun Kim, and more than 100 others. He has previously led street art tours in London, New York City, and Stavanger.
In other words: we are very lucky to have him!
