Professor Robert Semmens teaches "Private Equity Finance" at Stern. He was the founding partner of The Beacon Group (sold to Chase in July 2000). Between 1993 and 2000 he managed to raise and manage two private equity funds totaling $1.5 billion and participated in third private equity fund. He Managed fund of market neutral hedge funds. He is the member of Investment Committee overseeing over 30 portfolio companies, He is also the director of multiple portfolio company. He sits on various boards as director of foreign public company. He was the Vice President of Goldman, Sachs & Co. between 1983 and 1993. His main research Interests is Private Equity, Markets, Ethics and the Law
