"MindfulNYU People of Color Meditation Group welcomes people of color from the NYU community to gather together to meditate, connect with community and seek healing in these uncertain times. Through meditation and mindfulness practice this POC safe space encourages participants to find freedom and stillness in a world obsessed with stereotypes and assumptions. Contrary to popular belief, meditation is not a practice of "finding inner peace" but instead, is being inwardly peaceful in the midst of everyday life. Through quieting the mind and body in a supportive environment, participants will learn to access this calm even when surrounded by a turbulent and conflicted external world. Join us for "woke" meditation and conversation that goes underneath the skin to the infinite ocean of the inner self."
