The ESA Club at NYU Stern is excited to host a virtual panel to discuss recruiting best practices.

Henry Ferguson, VP of ESA Careers will be moderating the panelists:

Clara Ma, Founder and CEO @ Ask a Chief of Staff, a recruiting firm that helps companies source, vet, and hire all star Chiefs of Staff. Clara has deep experience from various advising and full time roles in the startup world.

Rachel Serwetz, Stern MBA '19, Founder & CEO & Career Coach @ Woken, a web-based career coaching platform that helps professionals clarify their ideal career path through a structured, step-by-step process of learning and reflection. WOKEN supports users in making intentional career decisions, identifying upskilling opportunities, refining personal branding, and executing a strategic job search to land fulfilling roles. Before launching WOKEN, Rachel built deep expertise in career development through roles in HR at Bridgewater Associates and as a career coach at WeWork, Flatiron School, Project Activate, and Columbia University. These experiences reinforced the power of the frameworks she developed to guide professionals toward confident, intentional career decisions.

Michael Powell, Technical Recruiting @ Mill Industries, the company behind an effortless, odorless food recycler. At Mill, Michael leads technical recruiting functions, partners with leadership to define recruiting goals and strategies, and ensures that the company attracts and hires top-tier talent. He also manages a team of sourcers and coordinators, optimizing the hiring process to efficiently identify and close the best candidates. Before Mill, Michael built a strong track record in technical recruiting with roles spanning early-stage startups to major tech firms: Front, Google, Fitbit (acquired by Google), Scalyr, GoDaddy, and JobSpring Partners.
