Fireside Chat with Mundi Leadership

Join us for an intimate conversation with the leadership team of Mundi, a fintech reshaping how Latin American companies trade with the world.

Founded in 2020, Mundi helps small and medium-sized exporters, especially in Mexico, solve one of the biggest hurdles in cross-border trade: getting paid. Instead of waiting 30, 60, or 90 days for international buyers to pay, exporters can get funded within a day or two of delivery, while Mundi takes on the collection and non-payment risk. Today the company offers a full suite of trade tools, including financing, multi-currency accounts, FX, and cargo insurance, and is backed by investors like Union Square Ventures and FJ Labs.

Meet the speakers

Paulina Aguilar Vela, Co-Founder, CRO, and Managing Director of Mexico at Mundi. Paulina brings over a decade of experience in Mexican fintech, where she helped grow B2B financial products at Resuelve tu Deuda, Cumplo, and Covalto (formerly Credijusto). She was named one of Forbes México's 30 Promesas in 2024 and one of the 50 most powerful women in Latin American fintech by LATAM FinTech Hub. She is a columnist for El Financiero and Mexico Business News, and a graduate of ITAM.

Juan Carlos Christensen, Co-Founder and CTO at Mundi. Juan Carlos has spent more than 20 years building software, over half of them as a founder and CTO of fintech startups and the rest at small Silicon Valley companies. Before Mundi, he was VP of Engineering at Rappi and founded and served as CTO of Credility and ChgLabs, fintechs focused on commerce and lending.

We'll talk about building a fintech for an underserved market, scaling across the U.S.-Mexico corridor, navigating a shifting trade landscape, and what it takes to lead a high-growth startup between the U.S. and Latin America.
