MVC Toys for Tots Drive

A great block bonding Sternie tradition is right around the corner. Our Toys for Tots drive delivered over 1000 toys to kids last year. This year we want to beat that. We are also hoping to encourage more engagement between the first year and second years. We will be awarding block points for total toy donations (from BOTH blocks) and to whichever block has the coolest toy.

We encourage you to find ways to work together to raise money, buy toys, and have fun! Here are a few ideas from last year but feel free to add your own traditions.
Venmo one person in the block to receive money - could be one per class or one for the whole block
Make a group trip to KMart (right at Astor Place) or on Amazon.com to go on a toy shopping spree
Take plenty of pictures to put on the block and stern instagrams. #sterntaclaus
Build donations around a block bonding evening or outing #toysforshots (be responsible! don't have too much fun with this one)
The drive officially kicks off November 20th but feel free to start collecting toys early!

Logisitics & Guidelines:
Donations will be collected in the KMC lobby starting November 20th from 12:00-1:30PM and 4:30-6:00PM every Monday-Thursday (excluding holiday breaks).
Toys for Tots Campaign closes on December 14th at 6:00 PM.
Types of Toys: New and unwrapped and nothing perishable. People should also be a little realistic. Things for an XBOX or something that requires something that is already expensive is probably not a good idea. Ideally, a stand alone toy. Point System (Receipt required otherwise will be judged subjectively)
Toys under $5: 2 points
Toys between $5-$15: 10 points
Toys over $15: 20 points
BONUS: Coolest toy award - 150 points
