Charles Mangiardi

Focus: Economics, Social Impact

Experience: Before Stern, Charlie worked for four years on the Influence team at Year Up, a national social enterprise serving young adults who lack a stable connection to a career pathway. In that role, he sought to leverage the program's direct service success for broader impact on the national perceptions, practices and policies that perpetuate the Opportunity Divide, while also positioning the direct service channel to capitalize on externally arising opportunities such as social impact bonds. He also formerly served as a member of the Match Corps in Boston and earned his B.A. in History at Boston College. Charlie spent the summer on the strategic marketing team at Citi.

Nancy Van Way
Executive VP

Focus: Sustanability

Experience: Before starting at Stern Nancy was project manager for the launch of a 1200-head grass-fed cattle ranch in Molokai, Hawaii. Prior to that, she worked with International Paper at their headquarters in Memphis, TN to develop the company's sustainability program. Nancy spent her summer as a fellow with the Stern Center for Business and Human Rights working with PVH Corp. in their corporate responsibility office. Nancy earned her BA in politics, philosophy & economics and environmental studies from University of Pennsylvania.

Amy McDermott
Executive VP 

Focus: Strategy, Social Enterprise

Experience: Amy is a second year dual MBA/MPA Candidate. Amy began her career in a leadership development program with the FAO Schwarz Family Foundation Fellowship serving at Jumpstart, a national early education organization. Amy earned her BS in both Business Administration and Philosophy from Boston College and is originally from Boston.  This past summer, Amy worked on the Finance and Strategy team at charity: water.

Rachel Perry
VP of Membership Development

Focus: Strategy and Social Impact

Experience:Rachel is a second year MBA candidate. This summer she worked with the global and US Human Resources teams at Chanel, focusing on projects related to the company's Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. Prior to Stern, she spent several years in the music industry working for The Bowery Presents, an NYC-based venue operator and concert promoter. Rachel is originally from Chicago and received her BA in English and American Literature from NYU.

Jessica Bardy
VP of New Membership

Focus: Strategy, Social Impact.

Experience: Jessica was born and raised in NYC. Originally from Astoria, she graduated from NYU's College of Arts and Sciences with a BA in Psychology. Upon graduation, she joined Teach for America, teaching high school math in the Lower East Side and Brooklyn for 8 years. Realizing she had a passion for tackling broader issues in education, she came to Stern in hopes of eventually returning to the field as an educational consultant. Here at Stern, she is on the SEA and SGov boards, coaches Stern Speaks, and enjoys rock climbing and leading The Bowling Puns, Stern's intramural bowling team. She spent her summer in Texas, interning with the National Park Service as a consultant for Big Thicket National Preserve.

Charles Walker
VP of New Membership

Focus: Economics and Global Business

Experience: Prior to Stern Charles worked for a USAID project in Ethiopia where he coordinated the implementation of a $14.2M innovation fund that increased incomes for small-holder farmers through business development. He also worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Panama implementing a gravity-fed water system. Charles is passionate about infrastructure development and cleantech. His summer internship was at Pacific Gas and Electric, where he worked on the Transmission Project Development team to implement software solutions to improve project execution processes.

Ward Wolff
VP of Social Innovation Symposium

Focus: Real Estate, Finance, Social Impact

Experience: Ward is a second-year MBA candidate. This summer he was a SIIF Fellow with the NYU Marron Institute of Urban Management in Montería, Colombia. Prior to Stern, he co-founded a public recreation startup called Recess and managed partnerships at the nonprofit City Parks Foundation and SummerStage in NYC. Ward earned his BA in English from Middlebury College and is originally from San Francisco.

Meghna Sarma
VP of SIIF Support

Focus: Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Marketing
Experience: Meghna is a second year MBA candidate. Prior to Stern, she worked as a lawyer at an international non-profit organization, which focused on conflict resolution. She is passionate about sustainable fashion, entrepreneurship and the intersection of business and human rights specifically in the apparel and consumer goods sectors. She received her JD from Fordham Law School and has a BA in Political Science and Economics from NYU. This past summer Meghna worked as a Center for Business and Human rights Fellow at PVH Corp.

Rachel Rothkrug
VP of SIIF Support

Focus: Strategy, Marketing
Experience: Rachel grew up in New York and graduated from Lehigh University with a BA in Political Science and Religion Studies. Prior to Stern Rachel worked as a Sales Analyst at Avon Products, and spent the summer interning on the Global Agency team at Spotify in New York City. She is also on the EEX board as VP of Social Events, and serves as VP of Alumni Relations on SGov.

Fahed AlRayes
VP of Finance

Focus: Finance, Strategy

Experience: Prior to Stern, Fahed worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was part of the Financial Services Industry practice for 5 years advising a wide range of clients including banks, investment companies, and sovereign wealth funds.  Prior to PwC, Fahed was with Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Risk Management practice for 5 years where he worked on capital adequacy implementation and risk measurement at various financial institution.  He is eager to use his background in finance, strategy, and program management to transition into a role at an International Development Bank after Stern.  Fahed originally hails from Beirut, Lebanon, and has a bachelors degree from the American University of Beirut.

Maria Paula Robledo
VP of Knowledge Management

Experience: Maria is a first year MBA with over five years of experience in the financial services industry in Colombia. Before Stern, she worked as a Sales Trader at BBVA, devising currency and interest rate hedging strategies for Medium-Size private companies. Maria is interested in transitioning into Impact Investing, Social Finance, or Development Finance. She received her BS in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, in Bogota.

Lee Hofrichter
VP of Knowledge Management

Focus: Strategy, Social Innovation & Impact

Experience: This summer, Lee was a Summer Associate at Q5, a London-based organizational design consultancy. Prior to Stern, Lee worked for a variety of non-profits -- at Habitat for Humanity and Year Up in Boston, and at Duke University and Duke Medicine down in North Carolina. He also served on the board of a non-profit, Activate Good, in Raleigh. He is eager to use his background in strategy, program management, and relationship-building to help all types of organizations in the future. He has a bachelor's degree from Tufts University.

Alexander Richards

Experience: Alex Richards is an MBA2 specializing in Strategy and Marketing. Alex interned this summer at Bain & Co. in their London office. Prior to Stern, Alex worked in financial services at UBS in Legal & Compliance, Finance & Risk, and Sales Strategy. He holds a B.A. from Colby College in History and Classical Civilization.

Rebecca Smith

Focus: Strategy, Management of Tech & Operations

Experience: Becky joined the Langone program in Fall 2013. Becky has been working in the financial services industry for a decade and spent the last eight years in the social sector consulting dozens of nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies.  She built a software business,, to provide other nonprofits with tools to help them measure outcomes and quantify their impact.  Becky has also led dance programs in Haiti and Uganda.  She earned her B.S. in Finance and Communication at Rutgers University.

Evan Browne

Focus: Sustainability, Impact Consulting

Experience: Evan is a second year MBA candidate at Stern. Prior to Stern, Evan attended Brooklyn Law School and subsequently worked as a litigation associate in New York City where his practiced focused on the defense of products liability and medical malpractice actions. Before law school, Evan worked as an environmental consultant, also in New York City.  This past summer, Evan was a Summer Associate at Altman Vilandrie & Co.
