Stern Day of Service | April 11 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Join us for a hands-on day of service in East Harlem with Concrete Safaris, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through green exercise, environmental education, and community building.
Since 2008, Concrete Safaris has helped children become healthy leaders by connecting them to their environment through activities like gardening, running, and outdoor exploration. This is your chance to support their mission while making a tangible impact in the community.
Together, we’ll help create a healthier, greener space for local kids by:
🌿 Preparing raised garden beds for spring planting
🌱 Planting seeds and transplants
🪵 Spreading woodchips and shoveling topsoil
🌾 Removing weeds and revitalizing the garden space
This is a great opportunity to get outside, get your hands dirty, and contribute to a meaningful cause alongside your fellow Sternies.
📍 Location: Jefferson Gardens (1775 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10029)
Located within the Jefferson Houses toward the dead end, behind the school
