Mission
Stern in Africa (SiA) is an all-inclusive club at NYU Stern that highlights the rich social, cultural, and professional opportunities available across the African continent. Open to all members of the Stern and NYU community, SiA’s events are designed to expose students, faculty, and alumni to Africa’s dynamic business landscape and vibrant cultural heritage. Our mission is to enhance the Stern experience by connecting the community with Africa through insightful educational panels, networking events, and engaging social activities. We aim to provide access to information about African business and career opportunities, foster dialogue around key African issues, and promote Africa as a thriving destination for both business and leisure. Additionally, SiA works to increase Stern’s visibility among Africans in the diaspora, support the Admissions Office in recruiting African students, and create a strong support network for African students currently at Stern. We also strive to offer meaningful networking opportunities for members interested in pursuing careers in or related to Africa. Whether you have professional interests in African markets, a personal connection, or simply a curiosity to learn more, SiA welcomes you to be a part of our growing community.
