Adam Drucker
Co-President

 

Focus: Strategy, Finance

Experience: Before Stern, Adam spent six years working at a consulting firm in Washington, DC focusing on issues related to mass tort litigation and geopolitical risk. In his spare time, he volunteers as a debate coach with the Rikers Debate Project. Adam is spending his summer in a strategy consulting role at Mars & Co. Adam graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in international politics. 

Jamison Friedland
Co-President

Focus: Sustainable Business, Finance

Experience: He began his career trading, first in equity options before transitioning into fixed income, primarily interest rates. Before starting at Stern, he interned with various social impact roles at organizations including Rainforest Alliance and NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business.  

Leah Naidorf
VP of Admissions

Focus: Sustainable Business & Innovation, Strategy

Experience: Before Stern, Leah worked at the non-profit social enterprise First Book in Washington, DC for three years. At First Book, she primarily worked in a special sales department, planning and implementing children's book distributions for corporate social responsibility initiatives for a variety of national corporate partners. Leah is spending her summer at Nespresso, helping to develop their B2B sustainability strategy and marketing initiatives. Leah graduated from the University of Virginia in 2015 with a double major in biology and Spanish.

Casey McAlpin
VP of Conference

Focus: Operations, Supply Chain

Experience: Before NYU, Casey worked at AFS-USA, a non-profit study abroad organization. She currently works at NYU as the Assistant Director of Global Alumni Programs. In both organizations, Casey focused primarily on program development, project management and event planning for a global audience. Casey graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics and Spanish.  

Pia Kochhar
VP of Conference

Focus: Strategy, Leadership & Change Management

Experience: Before Stern, Pia worked as a Marketing Associate for a social business start-up in Argentina. She then spent three years working for JSI, an international development/public health consulting firm in Washington, D.C. During her time at JSI, Pia worked on Ebola recovery projects in Sierra Leone and Liberia, and led trainings for NGOs in Haiti. Pia is spending her summer at JP Morgan Chase as part of the Chase Associate Program. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Economics and Political Science. 

Chelsea Dias
VP of External Partnerships

Focus: Consulting

Experience: Prior to Stern, Chelsea lived in Nashville, TN. She began her career as a Teach for America corps member, then transitioned to a role as an Operations Analyst for a healthcare startup. Beyond her professional life, Chelsea volunteers with Teach for America and the Girl Scouts. This summer, she will be interning at EY-Parthenon as a consultant. Chelsea is a 2014 alumnus of Georgetown University (B.A., Economics & Government).

Jefferson Day
VP of External Partnerships

 

Focus: Finance, Marketing, Sustainable Business & Innovation

Experience: Before Stern, Jefferson spent two years at Schneider Electric Software in Chicago marketing IoT and predictive analytics solutions to large industrial companies. Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Jefferson developed PR, social media and crisis response strategies for a variety of B2B companies as part of Edelman's Corporate Reputation & Risk team. This summer, Jefferson will be interning at American Express in their Marketing department. Outside of Stern, Jefferson enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, doing improv and writing. He graduated from the University of Chicago with an A.B. in History.

John Malfetano
VP of Finance

Focus: Strategy, Sustainable Business & Innovation

Experience: Before Stern, John worked at a nonprofit organization that prepares young adults for careers in sustainability. During his time there, John launched a social enterprise that employed 40+ adults in jobs in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and urban agriculture. This summer, John will be working in Deloitte's Strategy & Operations group. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics from Fordham University. 

James Prager
VP of Internal Partnerships

Focus: Global Business, Strategy

Experience: Prior to coming to Stern, James spent almost seven years in operations at Goldman Sachs with the Settlements and Securities Lending groups. He has also volunteered with iMentor in New York City for four years. This summer, James will be working in Finance and Risk Consulting at Accenture. James graduated the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering and minors in French and Chemistry.

Jessica Liang
VP of Internal Partnerships

Focus: Sustainable Business & Innovation, Strategy

Experience: Before Stern, Jessica spent five years at KPMG's Forensics Consulting practice. Her consulting work was primarily focused on crisis management and fraud alleviation within the public and uilities sectors. Jessica also served as a pro bono consultant with various nonprofits in Southern California and Southeast Asia. Jessica is passionate about the intersection between social impact and consulting. Jessica graduated from the University of Southern California with a double major in Business and Social Psychology.

Michael Spitzer-Rubenstein
VP of Knowledge Management (Careers)

Focus: Finance, Leadership, Strategy

Experience: Prior to business school, Michael was a political consultant advising campaigns and nonprofits around the world on digital strategy and marketing. He founded a political consulting firm which was then acquired by a larger international agency. He also launched a media startup and has done product management and marketing for tech startups. Michael grew up in Los Angeles, CA and earned his BA in Urban Studies from Columbia University in 2012. He now lives in Brooklyn with his wife and bikes and makes pickles in his spare time.

Sophia Valner
VP of Knowledge Management (Careers)

Focus: Impact Investing

Experience: Sophia is originally from Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Health and Societies. She spent the summer of 2018 interning with Goldman Sachs' Healthcare Investment Banking group. Previously, Sophia worked for on Gerson Lehrman Group's Strategic Projects team in both New York, NY and Austin, TX. Sophia is pursuing a dual degree MBA / MPA at Stern and Wagner specialinzing in Social Impact, Innovation and Investment, and is ultimately interested in merging her studies in impact and business by investing into social enterprises.

Amy Ho
VP of Knowledge Management (Education)

Focus: Sustainable Business & Innovation, Strategy, Leadership & Change Management

Experience: Prior to coming to Stern the second time for her MBA, Amy spent three years in EY's strategy consulting practice working with food & beverage CPG clients. Amy completed coursework in sustainable food systems and food innovation at Tufts University while she was working. She has also volunteered with GrowNYC's farmers markets across NYC for the past three years, and with Reading Partners (an AmeriCorp program) for four years prior to that. Amy's passion lies in the intersection between early-stage investment and better food & consumer solutions.

Michelle Shen
VP of Langone

Focus: Sustainable Business & Innovation, Marketing, Leadership & Change Management

Experience: Prior to Stern, Michelle spent 5 years in UPS's marketing function with responsbilities that included new product development, channel management, and corporate segment strategy. An advocate for strong CSR programs, Michelle established partnerships with nonprofits including BlinkNow, Henry Street Settlement, and Womankind, and now serves by consulting. She is passionate about finding collaboration between nonprofits and corporations for mutual gain. Michelle is a graduate from The College of New Jersey, having specialized in international business and management.

Odd-Jorgen Maeland
VP of Marketing

Focus: Finance, Strategy, Sustainable Business

Experience: Before Stern, Odd spent five years in investment banking. Most recently, he was an Associate at Guardian Corporate, an independent financial advisory firm, in Oslo, Norway. Earlier, Odd started his career as an Analyst at Deutsche Bank's London office. He is spending his summer at Cornerstone Research, an economic and financial consulting firm. Odd graduated cum laude with an economics concentration from Harvard. 

Jessica Tou
VP of Sustainability at Stern

Focus: Sustainable Business & Innovation, Marketing

Experience: Prior to Stern, Jessica worked in customer consulting and marketing in the tech and the professional services industries, respectively. This summer, she will be working at Johnson & Johnson Consumer. She is passionate about embedding sustainability in consumer products. Jessica graduated with distinction with a Business Administration major and Chinese minor from UNC Chapel Hill.
