Rapid technology advances have enabled continuous globalization of IT and Business Process services from low-cost locations such as India, Philippines, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Over the last two decades, the drive to offshore knowledge intensive services has been fueled by the ongoing shortage of IT labor, increasing cost pressures, and flexibility needed to respond to a turbulent business environment. While Western firms continue to tap into their service providers primarily for cost reason, there are also hoping to harness innovative ideas and solutions from these relationships.

Yet, it is often difficult to incentivize service providers hired to cut costs to also deliver value-generating ideas. At the same time, with the advancements in back office automation, cognitive computing, and artificial intelligence, vendors that relied on low-cost models to perform routine tasks may see their business disappear. Moreover, geopolitical changes such as Brexit as well as election of leaders who are critical of global sourcing both in developed and developing countries undermine stability of this business practice.

A panel of senior leaders focused on defining their firm's strategic sourcing practices and managing key partnerships will engage in a discussion of how their organizations are responding to these trends. They will also discuss career trajectories and skills necessary to succeed in strategic sourcing leadership and advisory roles.

Panel: 5:00pm - 6:00 pm
Networking Cocktail Reception: 6:00pm-7:00pm

Panelists include:
• Michael Monaghan – Founder and Executive in Residence, Global Sourcing Research Network
• Gopal Ramasamy – SVP, Global Sourcing Leader, PNC
• Leon Fernandes – Director, Outsourcing & Strategic Deals, Barclays
• Prof. Natalia Levina – NYU Stern, Moderator
