Please join SWIB Male Allies, Stern Partners, and the Office of Alumni & Development as we have a fireside chat with accomplished "power couple" Susan & Maris Jurevics about their tools, tips, and techniques for supporting each other through their individual success. From commanding the boardroom to caring for their children, we'll examine the dynamics that characterize a successful relationship between two equally ambitious and powerful people.

Prior to bareMinerals, Jurevics was the CEO of Pottermore from J.K. Rowling, the award-winning digital publishing, eCommerce, entertainment and news company of Harry Potter and J.K. RowlingÔÇÖs Wizarding World. She successfully repositioned PottermoreÔÇÖs business
strategy, built its digital community┬áand developed hundreds of digital publishing products, including 2016ÔÇÖs best-selling script eBook,┬áHarry Potter and the Cursed Child.┬á
 
Jurevics joined Pottermore in 2013 after more than 12 years at Sony Corporation of America, where she pioneered its cross-company, entertainment marketing function. She consolidated SonyÔÇÖs billion-dollar annual media spend across a dozen companies and re-architected SonyÔÇÖs US digital presence. Her teamÔÇÖs creative work won multiple awards from the Webbys, Pixels,┬áand┬áTelly Awards.
 
Her prior experience includes senior brand and product marketing roles at Mattel and Nickelodeon. Jurevics earned an MBA in Marketing and International Business from NYUÔÇÖs Leonard N. Stern School of Business and the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Maris has nearly two decades of management consulting experience, working with clients in the technology and financial services industries addressing issues related to strategy, process and organizational change.

MarisÔÇÖ corporate background includes consulting and line roles at Citibank, IBM, the United Nations and Deutsche Bank. Maris brings his experience as a management consultant to his coaching engagements. He uses a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients achieve measurable results. Maris partners with clients to make sense of unstructured challenges and to find fruitful paths forward. Maris leverages his extensive change management experience in working with clients that are leading large-scale changes in their organizations.

Maris draws on his experience as an engineer to help engineers and technologists operate more effectively as managers. Maris understands the language of technical organizations and provides clients with perspective on their leadership challenges.

Maris shared his passion for coaching as an adjunct faculty member of New York UniversityÔÇÖs School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

Conor Grennan is the Dean of MBA Students at NYU Stern. He is also the founder of Next Generation Nepal (NGN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting trafficked children with their families in Nepal, and the author of the New York Times best-selling and #1 international best-selling memoir Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal. Little Princes was shortlisted for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, was the winner of the GoodReads 2011 Best Travel and Outdoors Award, and has been translated into 15 languages. Since NGN's inception, the organization has helped reconnect more than 500 children with their families.

Prior to starting Next Generation Nepal, Grennan spent eight years at the EastWest Institute, both in Prague and in Brussels, in the role of Deputy Director of the Program on Security and Governance, where his projects focused on peace and reconciliation in the Balkans.

For his work with the trafficked children of Nepal, Grennan was recognized by The Huffington Post as a 2011 Game Changer of the Year. In 2014, he was also named a recipient of the Unsung Heroes of Compassion, which was awarded to him by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Grennan is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the NYU Stern School of Business. Currently he resides in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife Liz and his two children, Finn and Lucy.

Associate General Counsel

McKinsey & Company

Liz Grennan is Associate General Counsel at McKinsey & Company. She is the lead counsel for McKinsey Analytics, a fast growth platform at the leading edge of data analytics and artificial intelligence.

Prior to joining McKinsey in 2015, Liz served as the General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, for two different technology companies providing software and analytic solutions for commercial clients and within the U.S. Intelligence Community.

As a lawyer, Grennan practiced corporate law at Latham & Watkins LLP and Hogan Lovells LLP. While at Latham & Watkins, Grennan worked to help found ÔÇ£Buildable Hours,ÔÇØ a nonprofit organization of law firms committing financial and physical resources to build homes for local Habitat for Humanity chapters for deserving families. She served on the Buildable Hours board from 2002-2006. Grennan has also served as pro bono counsel to a large nondenominational church in New York City from 2002 to 2010. Grennan has also been an entrepreneur, founding an online health and wellness site, Still the Sea.

Liz serves on the Board of Directors of Next Generation Nepal, an organization dedicated to reuniting trafficked children with their families in Nepal.

Grennan received her BA from the University of California at Los Angeles, her MSc from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and her JD from The University of Virginia School of Law.
