Backed by popular demand from the Spring, Adventures is doing another hike this semester with ABS!!

New York City is awesome, sure, but if you need some fresh air, take a break to come hike and enjoy the beautiful, fall scenery with Stern Adventures and ABS! Mount Beacon is only an 90 minute train ride north from Grand Central.

We will all meet in front of the big clock at Grand Central at 8:30 am for an 8:50 am train and board the last car of the train. We will take the train to the Mount Beacon stop, where we will take the shuttle and walk briefly to trail head.

Transportation Options:
By car Drive to the Mount Beacon parking lot at 788 Wolcott Ave, Beacon, NY 12508. Arrive early to make sure you can secure a parking spot. Arrive at Mount Beacon Trailhead, Beacon, NY 12508 by 11AM.
By train Take the MTA to Grand Central Terminal and then take the Metro North Railroad to Beacon Train Station to arrive by 10:21AM. Take the free LOOP bus to Stop 3 (Howland Avenue) and arrive by 11 AM. There is a bus leaving at 10:25 AM and 10:50 AM. Alternatively, walk one mile to arrive at Mount Beacon Trailhead, Beacon, NY 125-08 by 11AM.

Purchase your ticket through the TrainTimes App. You can purchase the ticket at any time, including the morning of the hike.
Morning, 8:50 AM
From: Grand Central
To: Mount Beacon

Afternoon, 3:00ishPM
From: Mount Beacon
To: Grand Central

Mount Beacon is one of the best hiking trails in upstate New York. This hike is easier than the one from the Fall. We will see a view of two big views, including the a fire tower. Afterwards will enter town to get lunch!

Clothing: Sneakers or hiking shoes should be sufficient. Wear comfortable, exercise clothing. We recommend checking the weather beforehand and bringing another layer (and maybe an extra t-shirt to change into) for afterward as it will likely be comfortable but chilly.

Food: Make sure to bring about 2 liters of water. You never know how thirsty you will get. Make sure to have breakfast, pack some snacks (fruits, cookies, etc.) and bring a light lunch (sandwich). We'll stop mid-way and eat at a scenic location.

Lunch: We will get lunch in town, there are many good options!!

***Disclaimer - hike is subjected to changes based on weather condictiones***
