MENA Cultural Spotlight & Opportunities
A Note for This Week
Dear MENA Community,
November is in full swing — exams, group projects, social events, and most importantly, recruiting. It’s a busy stretch, but keep going. Take breaks, be intentional with your time, and stay true to yourself. We are rooting for you.
And speaking of staying balanced — we’ve got you covered on the social side. We’re closing out the semester with a lineup that brings culture, community, and good food (literally) to the table. Check out what’s ahead below.

Culture Corner
New York is full of MENA history and storytelling if you know where to look. Here are two we recommend exploring this month:
• “Niyu Yurk: Indigenous New York” at NYPL
A powerful exhibition reflecting on the layered identities and original cultures that shaped this land long before the modern city. A reminder that cultural roots, migration, and belonging run deeper than borders.

• Persian Poetics: Classical Persian Poetry in NYC
A community series bringing classical Persian verse to life through reading circles and guided interpretation. A great way to experience literature as lived culture, not just text.
