Adam Smith Society is a community dedicated to exploring the links among the economy, government, and society. The Society believes that business, entrepreneurship, and commerce are wellsprings that keep this country vibrant, creative, prosperous, and free. Through debate and discussion, the Society aims to advance this idea on campus and among business leaders.

build. Historically, captains of industry have not only driven the growth of the economy,
but they have also been among the foremost advocates of the free enterprise system,
publicly expounding the broader societal benefits of the market economy. The future
prosperity of our nation will depend, in no small part, on tomorrow's business leaders'
continuing in this tradition of promoting free markets.

The Adam Smith Society works to provide a venue where this discussion of foundational
ideas can be explored and applied to the current economic environment. We believe that
MBA students should acquire more than just an expertise in areas such as management,
marketing, and quantitative analysis—as important as these skills are. They should also
come to understand—and be able to defend—the nature of the economic system that
fosters job creation, wealth generation, the alleviation of poverty globally, and scientific
innovation.

Adam Smith Society is the only club with affiliate chapters across all the top business schools in United States and thus, it provides access to business school students to the wider MBA community to engage in free-flow of ideas and forge longer-term connections which sustain even after one graduates the MBA program.

In addition to joining the NYU Chapter, it is highly encouraged that members also join the National Chapter at the basic level to take full-advantage of the programming and fully-paid treks organized by the National Chapter.

(1) To foster community, learning, and professional development by bringing together students from Stern and Law.

(2) To enhance student extracurricular learning at NYU Stern and NYU Law, and facilitate early relationships between New York City's future leaders in Business and Law.

(3) To increase awareness about the strength of NYU's JD/MBA dual-degree program and work with the administration to decrease the unique hurdles faced by JD/MBA students.

Membership Benefits
The JD/MBA program at NYU is one of the nation's premiere law and business joint degree programs. The JD/MBA Association welcomes candidates admitted to the program, those considering applying, and students who are just interested in law and business.

We also work with many single-degree students from both Stern and Law who can learn and benefit from exposure to the other school—which truly is every student. We also help those enrolled in the JD/MBA program to meet the requirements, to get the most out of both schools, and to present a wide variety of options for those seeking non-traditional career paths.

JD/MBA students come together and discuss job opportunities, business ideas and legal questions. Throughout the year the Association hosts career panels, dinners with alumni, symposiums, and lunches with professionals.

With the generous support of the Jacobson Program, the Association also facilitates an annual Spring Break trip for twelve students. In recent years, destinations have included Hong Kong, Cape Town, Lisbon, and Berlin. During these trips we meet with leading business and industry professionals, as well as legal experts. While all of the students learn a great deal about the economies and legal systems of these countries and make great networking connections, the trips also create bonds among the students. The Association is acutely aware of the importance of this cohesion and views it as an invaluable part of our four year education.

The Association has developed global relationships with market leading companies and their senior management who speak regularly with the membership. Recognized as one of the leading JD/MBA programs, we have established connections with many firms interested in hiring NYU JD/MBA's for internships or full-time employment.
