Grade Non-Disclosure Policy

NYU Stern Langone Program

Proposed by Langone Student Government*. Vote passed February 20, 2015

*Please visit the Student Government website for details on the policy passed for the full-time MBA and joint-degree MBA programs in Fall 2013.

In recognition of the core values of the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and our desire to be forward thinkers, we, the NYU Langone program, hereby agree to implement the following grade non-disclosure policy (“Policy”) with respect to grades earned while attending NYU Stern.

As part of the policy, all Langone Students (effective immediately) hereby agree to the following:

• While recruiting on or off campus, to refrain from disclosing GPA, specific course grades, assignment grades or transcripts (earned at Stern), to potential employers during any part of the recruiting process.

In recognition of those students who have distinguished themselves academically, the Policy will not apply to the disclosure of academic honors such as academic distinction, Stern Scholar, Dean’s List, or TA/TF experiences.

The Career Center for Working Professionals will apprise recruiters of the student vote and ask that recruiters respect the Policy by refraining from asking students about their GPAs, specific course grades, assignment grades or transcripts during the recruiting process.

The Policy will remain in perpetuity until and unless overturned by a future class vote. Should future classes wish to overturn the Policy, they can do so by calling for LSG to organize a student vote. The vote required to pass the Policy is two-thirds majority of all submitted votes.
