Keynote Speaker

Dr. Marschall S. Runge is the former CEO of Michigan Medicine and Dean of the University of Michigan Medical School, and a practicing cardiologist. During his tenure in these leadership roles, Dr. Runge implemented transformative change and positioned Michigan Medicine and the Medical School internationally for continued success. He earned his doctorate in molecular biology at Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He was a cardiology fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and has been a physician-scientist for his entire career. Dr. Runge is the author of over 250 publications and holds five patents for novel approaches to health care. An avid thriller reader, Runge has experienced many you-can’t-make-this-up events that inform his fictional and non-fiction writing alike. In addition to The Great Healthcare Disruption, Dr. Runge is the author of the gripping medical thriller, Coded to Kill.
