About Us

Overview

The Stern Management & Strategy Club has an active membership of over 500 members across the Full-Time and Part-Time MBA programs, as well as an extensive network of alumni spread out over many industries. Our goal as a club is to support Stern MBA Candidates who are interested in networking and recruiting for roles in Corporate Finance, Internal Strategy, and General Management.

Mission

Our goal is to prepare our members to recruit and succeed in internal strategy, corporate finance, and general management rotational careers. We accomplish this by:

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Stern alumni network and the premier employers for these programs

- Sharing knowledge through a mentoring program and events such as career overview panels, networking practice, and interview preparation sessions

- Fostering a community with professional networking sessions and social functions

Career Development

At the beginning of the Fall semester, incoming members will be assigned an MBA2 career mentor based on what function and industry they are interested in. Throughout the recruiting process, members going through the recruiting process will have access to LinkedIn profile and resume review sessions as well as company-specific coffee chats with the rest of the MBA2 network.

Lunch & Learns

SMS hosts a series of Lunch & Learn sessions where various sponsors and company representatives are invited to present on topics related to strategy and finance. These can range from company-specific overviews to general industry topics. Lunch & Learns offer not only a closer look into careers in corporate strategy, finance, and management, but also additional opportunities for club members to connect and network with active employees and recruiting personnel.

Networking and Community

Upon joining, members will be added to an active network of Stern MBAs who are recruiting for roles in internal strategy, corporate finance, and general management. The club maintains an active community that shares information on job offers, interview preparation, and their work and internship experiences. We also try to hold several social events such as happy hours or picnics to give our members a chance to form connections outside of the recruiting process.
