1. Do all clubs have a Seamless account?
NYU Seamless is an OPTIONAL service! It is up to your club if having this would be helpful. Please consult your VP of Finance what system would be better for them, as it is their job to reconcile the Seamless expenses, and there are pros and cons to NYU Seamless vs. Regular Seamless through reimbursements.
2. Who can be a Club Seamless Rep?
Your Seamless Representative cannot be a Seamless delegate for another club. They also cannot be your club's VP of Finance.
3. What is the difference between NYU Seamless and Regular Seamless?
NYU Seamless allows $500 per order to be tax exempt ($20 savings) and charged directly to your club account. Anything over $500 must be paid via credit card and submitted for traditional reimbursement with your VP of Finance.
4. Why would we choose to use NYU Seamless?
NYU Seamless will charge your club account for the Seamless orders, reducing the need for the reimbursement process. It's also tax exempt, so there are some cost savings. However, NYU Seamless charges the account in one lump sum at the end of each month and the monthly lump sum charge can be more inconvenient to reconcile. We do have access to lump sum details upon request - email money@stern for this if needed.
5. Can we use both NYU Seamless and Regular Seamless?
Yes. If your two NYU Seamless delegates per club are not available to order (they don't need to attend the event, they just need to submit the order), you can have another member use Regular Seamless and submit for traditional reimbursement with your VP of Finance.
6. How do we know if we did - or - did not sign up for NYU Seamless?
You can check the Club Officer list. There is a Seamless Rep column (H). Only two people per club are allowed to order through NYU Seamless for the entire fiscal/academic year.
If you wish to use NYU Seamless, please also consult the two people you would like to select first, as they may be a Seamless delegate for another NYU club, not visible on the list.
If you do not wish to use NYU Seamless, please make sure no one is check marked for your club.
7. When do we need to designate a Club Seamless Rep?
If you wish to use NYU Seamless, please check that your Seamless Rep has been designated in column (H) of the Club Officer List by August 22nd. Most clubs will have already updated this during Pass the Torch, whether it be making sure no one is checked, or checking the correct people. If there has been any change over the summer, please be sure to update.
8. When can our two new NYU Seamless Reps start ordering?
NYU Seamless representatives will receive an email once accounts are ready to be set up. This email should go out toward the end of August. Club Seamless Accounts will be ready for use targeting September 1st.
9. Does NYU Seamless look different from Regular Seamless?
No - it's identical, except for their use of the word "credit" is extremely different from Regular Seamless (see below).
10. NYU Seamless says we have a $500 credit?
NYU Seamless use of the word "credit" means more like "we'll charge your club account up to $500, like a credit card, for this order" or another way to look at it is "you have permission to use your club account, like a credit card, up to $500 for this order."
